Case Summary/APS Support
for Informal Applications
Are carrier requirements for informals driving you crazy?
Certain life insurance carriers are now requiring case summaries and at the same
time limiting the number of pages that can be submitted for all informal submissions. These
new requirements are being imposed to enable Home Office Underwriting Departments to maintain
time-serve standards. The challenge for BGA’s is not only summarizing the case, but
also determining which pages to send to the carrier.
IBU solves this problem by now providing a separate .pdf document containing only the most
relevant pages from the APS’s. This .pdf is provided in addition to the required case
summary.
IBU, Inc., one of the leading underwriting service providers of APS/Case
Summaries to BGA's and Home Office Underwriting Departments, is now able to select
only the .pdf pages that are relevant to the underwriting decision on our secure, web-based
system. The process is simple and efficient: The IBU underwriter selects the relevant pages
while reviewing the case and submits the APS/Case Summary into our secure system, which
generates a completed .pdf document.
BGA's Can Now Request the Desired Page Count
Informals are limited to 30 pages for some carriers and 10 for others – but most cases
easily top that number, especially if there are multiples APS’s. This new enhancement
to the IBU system saves BGA’s the time and effort of sorting through APS’s to
pull out irrelevant pages noted in the case summary. Instead, the BGA receives the case summary
and the relevant pages together in a package that is within the page number limit and ready
to forward to the carrier.
The IBU APS/Case Summary Service for BGA’s and producers is designed to meet the specific
needs of the field force. Our experienced underwriters and web-based technologies create
a seamless, paperless system for securely transferring medical records. The case summaries
highlight all factors pertinent to risk selection with the objective to present the case
in the most favorable light to the home office underwriter.
In addition to a main summary and .pdf document of relevant pages, a complete Brokers Report
also is provided. This is a blunt, honest assessment of the case containing a ballpark rating.
If the case is likely a decline it will be noted in the Brokers Report only and not in the
main summary. It also states the action needed to get the case placed as quickly as possible.
This report is for the “producer’s eyes only,” and should not be forwarded
to the home office.
Pricing is very competitive. There are NO set up costs or minimum usage requirements. With
IBU’s APS/Case Summary Service, BGA's and insurance producers can access and pay for
exactly the amount of underwriting expertise they need, without having to hire an underwriter!
