Underwriting Services for the Life Settlement Market

Over the last few years, the life settlement industry has experienced dramatic growth. This in turn has lead to an increased demand for underwriting services to the life settlement industry. IBU recognized the market potential and need among life settlement providers, insurance companies, and investors and in July 2005 began to provide case summaries in order to streamline medical records submitted for Life Settlements.

In addition to summarizing Life Settlement cases, IBU also performs Life Expectancy Estimates (LE’s). With the average industry turnaround being between two and five weeks, IBU is able to offer our clients a competitive advantage by providing turnaround time in just a few days. The IBU web-based system also allows for easier, more secure processing of information.

Investors are using the IBU Life Settlement Underwriting service to perform application reviews to ensure the validity and accuracy of Life Settlements submissions. Additionally, we provide contestability reviews to help mitigate the risk of investing in policies that are less than two years old or within the contestability period.

Currently, IBU has about 20 underwriters exclusively focused on the Life Settlement Industry.
